Language Materials

The Montessori Method values a systematic approach that isolates concepts to be taught and builds skills through small, manageable steps. The Waseca Reading Program lies at the heart of our Language Materials, using a Montessori-inspired strategy of isolating difficulty and incremental progression. Guiding emergent readers from three-letter, short-vowel words through dipthongs and consonant blends to rarer rules and exceptions, students can become confident readers. All our phonetically controlled Readers and Sentence Building materials, as well as supplemental materials such as Language Works, use the Reading Program’s progressive, rainbow color-coding. Our grammar materials introduce budding readers to the basic parts of speech and lead children through advanced grammar studies. We offer age recommendations in our product descriptions to help you select materials appropriate for your classroom.
