Water Cycle Mat
This product is currently sold out.
The Water Cycle describes how water evaporates from the surface of the earth, rises into the atmosphere, cools and condenses into rain or snow in clouds, and falls again to the surface as precipitation. The water falling on land collects in rivers and lakes, soil, and porous layers of rock, and much of it flows back into the oceans, where it will once more evaporate. Our Water Cycle Mat, illustrates how water is recycled. Included with the mat, are wooden arrows printed with descriptions of the processes. Evaporation is colored in yellow; condensation and water flow in blue. Children place the arrows in the scene to show where the actions are taking place and build sentences with the grammar cards describing their observations. This is an important lesson when studying the role of water as an essential element to supporting life on Earth. (6 to 9 years)
