It's already been a month since the conference in Chicago, and we are working hard to fulfill all the orders that came in during those busy 4 days (and trying to move to our new location at the same time!) We had a wonderful time meeting and talking to teachers and educators from all over the world!
Here is Jackie sorting our brand new catalogue before the in-between workshop rush came happily descending into the exhibition hall.
Dana Jo Cooley is responsible for this beauty; we love our new catalogue so much!
It was smart to come by when the crowds were busy with the speakers upstairs;) Here's a teacher checking out our Continent Stencils.
Our team was excited to showcase our new Life Cycle puzzles: The Life cycle of a Human Female and a Human Male (and we have already started the process of some new ones to come soon!).
Our little library nook was very popular with the teachers and most of the books we brought up to Chicago were gone after day 2 -- luckily we have plenty more of them on our website -- even a new one: Atlas of Adventure. A 2016 Notable Social Studies Trade Book for Young People (National Council for the Social Studies-Children's Book Council.
We were also delighted to showcase our beautiful new version of our Waseca Reading Program Storage. We had a hard time keeping up with the many orders that kept coming in, finding ourselves having to put them on constant backorders, so when we found this amazing wood-shop in Poland we decided to outsource the manufacturing. The craftsmanship is absolutely stunning and we love love love the new slightly more muted color scheme.
The interest for our new North America Portfolio (and our test print of our Africa Portfolio) warmed our hearts. We are working very hard to finish all the other continents so we can offer a complete set. Our favorite moment must have been when two teachers immediately sat down on our pillows to work through the portfolio! We are also extremely happy with the wonderful feedback we got on the design of the Companion Guides (and we agree -- our very own Bridget Lasch did an amazing job designing them!) They are for sale on our website:) All in all we had a great time in Chicago and we can't wait for next years conference in sunny breezy San Diego! See you there!
